..Grief takes many shapes..sometimes it's a feeling, sometimes it's a person in the back in your mind, someone you're convinced is real and in pain..sometimes it's a flower, one you think represents renewal, when it actually just means death.

And, it's a pain in the ass. It follows you around, no matter how hard you try to forget it, you'll always have a deep-rooted feeling of disparity. That is grief in it's true form. You can do so many things with your grief, but to help someone else is to consume their grief into your own.

..When you teach yourself to forget grief, you start to enjoy it. Like a drug, almost.

Soukoku new pet

I saw someone talking about how foxes are like cats with a dog's dna and my mind immediately went to soukoku, so here you go

They have been arguing nonstop for months now. Chuuya wants a dog, Dazai obviously refuses and counters by asking for a cat. ‘Dogs are dumb’ ‘Cats are mean’ ‘Dogs smell bad’ ‘Your nose is messed up after living in that dumpster’

And so they go on, until one day Dazai shows up at their doorstep holding a little red fox in his arms.

“What are you doing mackerel?”

“Shit! You weren’t supposed to see it yet.” Dazai says sheepishly — wait no, that would be bad, since he brought a fucking fox into their house, so, Dazai says stupidly. “I solved all of our problems!”

"”We are not keeping that.”

“She is perfect!” Dazai walks inside and shoves the fox into Chuuya's arms. With a scowl he pets it, fluffy fur. “Hear me out, you want a dog, right? Well, foxes are from the same family as dogs, close enough I would say.”

“Not in the slightest.”

“Aaand they are well known for their catish behavior, and that's what I want, so, win win.”

“Where did you even get it?”

“Well, that isn't important, and she is an orphan, we are actually saving her from a life of suffering.”

He sighs and looks at the animal. All alone huh? He doesn't even know how to properly take care of a fox.

“Besides, you two match!” Dazai comes closer and ruffles Chuuya's hair. And he can't help but blush at that.

“We will have to learn a bunch of new things, probably get a bigger house, with a backyard or something.”

“So is that a yes?”

“For now.” He looks down at the fox and laughs surprised when she licks him.

“Doyou hear that little Crab? You got a new home!” Dazai says making Chuuya just stare at him bewildered.

“Now hold on a second, we are not naming our pet fox 'Crab'”

“They are both orange, I think it fits.”

“No it doesn't, it should be something like ‘Romanée’.”That gets him a scoff.

“We are not naming her after your favorite wine.”

“Better than your favorite food.” He counters.

The day passes and their discussion doesn't even falter.

‘Dango’ ‘No, Petrus’ ‘No, Sake’ ‘That's no better than a wine name’ ‘It's better cause it tastes better.’

Weeks pass and the poor little fox remains nameless. Well, at least until the next dispute manages to shift their attention once again. But that’s okay, now they have a little companion at their sides.

• Alright, so he’s about what you’d expect him to be… If you’re thinking cheery and flirtatious, you’re right. Almost obnoxiously so. If you don’t respond quick enough, he’ll be blowing your phone up with every little thought that he has. “Do yuo remmember when we first met? Did yup think I was cool?” “Doyou think birds get sad?” “Wish food was opne…hungry.”

• His texting isn’t atrocious, but there’s definitely some word-deciphering to be done here and there. Seems to consistently type “you” wrong.

• Sends a blurry selfie or two. You save them, obviously, because his adorable smile is to die for. Yeah, go ahead and make that his contact picture too. Oh, but he expects a selfie in return, obviously. “Let me see yup beaotiful, send yuor beautful face.”

Hyuga

• This guy doesn’t text. He just doesn’t. What’s an emoji? He has no idea. However, on the occasion when drinking, if you aren’t around, he may whip his phone out and start texting you. Though, it’s mostly just him telling you to come to wherever he is. “Come over” “It’s 1 in the morning…” “Fine I’m coming to you” And don’t doubt him, because he will. Because he’d much rather actually be with you than just texting you.

• If he can’t see you, he’ll probably opt to calling you at some point as his vision grows blurry and texting becomes increasingly more difficult. Will accidentally call someone else though, because he can’t figure that damn phone out. Old man Hyuga. “Hah? Who’s this? Why’re you with my woman? …Ah, sorry Ukyo, wrong number.”

• Will most definitely pass out at some point, but not without saying goodnight first. He’s a gentleman, after all. Rolls eyes. “Night see you tomorrow” “Wait, Nori, did we have plans tomorrow? Nori?” Aaaand he’s out.

Hirai

• One word: needy. Something akin to a puppy, but maybe even worse than that. At least puppies eventually wear themselves out, but Hirai seems to be on an endless timer when drunk. Remind him that you love him, he’s begging you. Call him cute, that’d make him really happy. “You still love me, right? You seemed like you were mad at me the other day and I just wanted to say that—“ cue very long paragraph with a bunch of nonsense. Sigh.

• Lots of heart emojis. Like, almost at the end of every text. Always pink hearts too, like the one he has next to your contact name. “Just watching some show, what’re you up to ♡”

• Really just wants to remind you how much you mean to him, how cute you are, how much he needs you… Please don’t leave him on read, even if he gets a tad annoying. He gets his feelings hurt really easily when drunk, especially if it’s by his beloved. Also, he’s a bit embarrassed by it all the next day… Don’t use it against him, he really can’t bare it.

Dan

• Incoherent. That’s it. Like, you have to wonder if he’s typing with his eyes closed. “Covet said smthhg I can remembrance” “Covet” “COBRA DAMSIT” “Want smoe chzzy Roman” …Yeah, good luck figuring that all out.

• At some point he’s practically typing while asleep, but is still so adamant about texting you that his fingers seem to have a mind of their own. You can ignore his illegible texts, he really won’t blame you. In fact, it’s probably for the better. That way he can eventually forget about his phone and actually go to sleep.

• If out in public, will probably end up losing his phone somewhere throughout the night. It wouldn’t be the first time. He also dropped it in a toilet once. Yeah, maybe he needs to stop drunk texting you…

Brown

• If one thing is consistent about his phone drunk self and his real life drunk self, it’s how flirty is. Like, borderline inappropriate. If the two of you weren’t already dating, you definitely would have blocked him. He really can’t help himself though, he just thinks you’re so sexy. What’s a man to do? “Send some pics, doll” “Pics of what?” “Everything” Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately?) you can probably expect him to send a few pictures himself… I’ll leave that up to your imagination.

• Pretty sporadic and inconsistent texts, especially if he’s out drinking instead of at home. Sometimes it’ll be seconds between replies, and sometimes hours. There’s really no telling, so don’t bother trying to have some sort of consistent conversation with him. “Miss you, doll” “I just saw you earlier this afternoon” [2 hours later] “Sorry, was trying to find your point” “-_-“

• This man has no shame. He will not feel any regrets for anything he says or does the following sober morning. In fact, expect this sort of drunk behavior pretty often. No matter what choice of scenery he’s chosen to drink in, he’ll always end up texting you. Well, at least you know his focus is always on you.

I'm new to Codywan. Doyou have a list of Must Reads or Fandom Classics or anything like that? (Bonus points for longfic!)

Funnily enough, I'm not sure I'm an expert on Fandom Classics, but I do think that the long Clone Wars rewrites/fix-its are a perfect way to start! (And then you can move on to shorter fics and crazy AUs haha) So these are all longer, and can be fit into TCW continuity, even if they diverge at some point because the writers can't help themselves and will fix canon (as they should).

Golden Shield of Brightness by NerJetii (@nerjetii)- Soulmate AU, your soulmates' (romantic and platonic) names are written on your wrists. "Only" 15k, but I would recommend it even if you're not a fan of soulmate AUs (=they don't fall into each other's arms just because they're soulmates). Focuses on Obi-Wan, mostly, but we also learn a bit about how the Kaminoans treated the clones.

I am teaching myself how to be free by tattooedgreenhouse (@gershwyndl) - this might be THE Clone Wars rewrite for me because the author has taken upon themselves to literally retell the whole series from Cody's AND Obi-Wan's POV. It's ambitious, I'm pretty sure it's technically canon compliant, but we do get our happy ending. Appropriately, it's 113k long.

i'll orbit your flickering star by sunskippa (@sunskippa) - Also a Clone Wars rewrite (by this I mean that it goes through the events of the series from Cody's POV), also canon compliant, 78k words. Might be my favourite ending in the genre, beautiful. I don't even know how to sell this, but it's a must-read imo

you read my mind, I'll read yours series by sospes - This is very much canon divergent. Starts off as a mission fic, Cody and Obi-Wan discover an artefact that creates a Force-bond between them. Misunderstandings ensue. Look at the tags/ratings, some of the works later on are spicier/angstier. But you could also read the first one and call it a day if those aren't your jam. (The whole thing is 166k long at the moment.)

will you be an anarchist with me? by a_alene (@birdiedoessw) - an outsider POV (Rex's) on Cody's and Obi-Wan's relationship. With the extra twist that they can't stand each other at the beginning of the war. This is something I would've loved to read when I was getting into codywan, it's a great way to start. (25k words)

shoulder the sky series by Night Fury (@shootingstarpilot) - Last but not least, an ongoing series (all but two works are finished, more than 200k words atm). You'll have to "get through" the first work to read the more codywan-focused fics (and I don't mean this in a bad way because the story is a m a z i n g. Just so you know.) To be honest, I think it might be a bit confusing to read at the moment because as far as I can see a work was removed from the series, but it's still up? I'm not sure what happened there, but I suppose you could simply read all the author's works in chronological order :D This series is pretty much Obi-Wan AND clone troopers focused and relies a lot on the Jedi Apprentice series (which isn't canon anymore) but you're gonna be fine if you haven't read it.

There has been this thing, that I've been thinking for a while about Kaga and The Saikou family. Do you think Kaga would be accepted or disregarded as a potential Megami's husband by the Saikou Family?

It's an unchangeable fact, that Kaga will be Megami's suitor for the matchmaking elimination. Like it or not, there is just too much evidence to deny it any longer. But the matchmaking elimination seems harmless only for the previous rivals since their dating life is not as strict as Megami's. They can have boyfriends with no consequences. When it comes to Megami (and the Saikou family in general) their relationships are rather arranged and planned, probably with no dating period. Just straight marriage.

My inner debate is whether Kaga is a good or bad potential husband for Megami in the eyes of the Saikou family. I'm curious if Ichirou (and Saisho, but he's dead so oh well) would even approve of Kaga. It is true, that the Saikous are looking for the best of the best, which makes Kaga's chances high, considering his genius and talents. But he also has many flaws and a bad reputation so if Megami already sees the red flags, why would Ichirou ignore them?

Also, If I remember correctly, YandereDev once stated that Taro would be an ok candidate for Megami because even though he's a basic character, he has a good personality because he's calm, obedient, careful and conflict-free (which is the exact opposite of Kaga lol)

Personally, I see both scenarios as possible, but I prefer if the Saikou Family didn't like him (I think it's mainly because of my Kagami headcanons established in my head lol)

well i think they are dumb lol. voice actors and actors of any kind are always doing fanservice, it’s the most normal thing to do when that gets them attention and money. you can enjoy what they say sure but you shouldn’t use that as an argument for your ship because at the end of the day it has no actual validity. especially when they are so contradictory and one day they will pander to one ship and the next to another

it’s not a coincidence that the people i see most using va’s words as an argument are the ones who’s ship has little content or the content they have is bad they need someone else words instead.

AGAIN, i see no wrong in having fun with it but at the end of the day ppl shouldn’t cling to what they say too much
